Zachary Ryan Graybill Hinkal, 24, of Lock Haven, PA passed away peacefully on June 22, 2026 after facing an unusually aggressive cancer with extraordinary courage and determination. He was surrounded by family members and his compassionate care team at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Zach was born to Esther Merrill (Steele) and Michael (Sevy) Lee Graybill on April 18, 2002 in Williamsport, PA. He was lovingly adopted by his paternal aunt and uncle, Michelle Hinkal (Graybill) and Brian Hinkal.
A 2020 graduate of Williamsport Area High School, Zach went on to work at Raleigh Window Tinting and Glass in Raleigh, NC and as a Flex Supervisor at Sheetz in Muncy, PA.
Zach is survived by his beloved two-year-old son, Sevy Michael Graybill-Driver, and Sevy’s mother, Jatiya Driver.
He is also survived by his adoptive parents; his adoptive brother, Gabe Hinkal and his partner, Simone Shah; his grandparents, Ron and Barb Hinkal; his cherished sister, Aly Rose Campana, and her partner, Brandon Seigel; half sisters Kristen Thomas (Vibbard), Bryana Huff, and Danielle Jones; his “brothers from other mothers,” Shawn Blagman, Hunter Corson, and Gaige Falk; his cousins Robert Hinkal, George and Misty Sober (Booth), Denton Parker and Taylor Weaver, Ashley Sober and Mike Berg, Amber Sober and Joe Wise and their sons Rylan and Ryder; as well as aunts and uncles Steve Bowman and Ann Bowman (Graybill), Jan Graybill (Furman), Debbie Graybill (Shick), and Brett Hinkal and Wendy Hinkal (Wilson).
Zach maintained a close, loving friendship with Jatiya as they amicably coparented their young son. Jatiya’s extended family was very special to Zach. Each family member embraced Zach as one of their own.
Zach’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his girlfriend, Alyssa Frick, for her unwavering presence, tender care, and dedication to Zach. Alyssa was a source of immeasurable comfort to him during his illness.
Zach was known for his mechanical ability, often servicing and repairing friends’ vehicles just for fun. He was also known for his playful personality, unwavering loyalty, and for his remarkable ability to find humor in almost every situation, even during life’s darkest moments.
He enjoyed playing Magic The Gathering, shooting pool, and playing video games with friends, building elaborate Lego sets, watching Harry Potter movies, and spending time outdoors. But, his greatest joy was spending time with and caring for his son, Sevy. Zach was an incredibly devoted, kind, and patient father.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Zach’s life on Saturday, July 18, at 4:00pm at Third Street Church, 931 East Third Street, Williamsport, with Pastor Steve Halstead officiating.
Nothing was more important to Zach than being a father to Sevy. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Zach’s memory may contribute to a GoFundMe, established to help provide for his son’s future. The family is deeply grateful for your support.
